I'm shaking in my boots

Watch out, "Democratic leaders are trying to figure out how to make the party more relevant to mainstream Americans". Essentially yet another article about democrats second guessing themselves and attempting to find a way into tricking the electorate into believing that they have similar ideals. The election though proved once again the folly of poll driven, wishy-washy politics. To keep Republicans on their toes, they need viable competition so it is neccesary that the democrat party figures out a way to "keep it from slipping into perpetual minority-party status."

Dems need to move right. Period. Unfortunately, the spin on this election is that it was about 'moral values' so the Democrats won't move right on economic issues where they are soooooo discredited. I envisioned a future Democratic party that is a tax-cutting, free-trade, reduce gov't party but socially liberal and then we can get down to the real battle. But hey, this'll work, I just wanted to seal the deal on the economy.

I think that many of the dems problems exist because of the fact that the democrat party is nothing more than a collection of special interests. There seems to be no cohesive set of core principles that guide them. Unless you call the feeling of 'victimhood' a value.
