Check this out, by an MIT atmospheric physicist. There's intimidation and threats, all right, but not from the direction the NYT is reporting.
From the article; "Since the late 1800s, the global average temperature has increased from .7 to 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit." I didn't realise the global average temperature was so cold. Well below freezing, sounds like we could use some global warming.
Fun as it is to ridicule the global warming parrots, I support most of the action suggestions of the article. Ethanol burning/hybrid vehicles and tapping solar energy are all very good things in working to wean us from foriegn oil.

No you idiot, solar energy is bad! Haven't you ever heard of sun sucking !?! If we start using all the sun's rays to heat our water and power our homes/cars, there won't be any rays left for us to see with! We might as well be blind! Is that what you want, well, is it? Why don't you just poke out your eyes then and save the rest of us from your "solar energy" shinanigans! Save the children!
