Condi Rice will be speaking at Princeton on Friday - I pick up my ticket today. I'll report out afterward, even try to include some pics (I think I might have to hook up with some picture-hosting site first, like Flickr). This being Princeton, I expect some moonbat protestors to be around. Although, it being Princeton, they'll at least look and smell ok, as opposed to, say, Brown.
Hopefully you'll see some pics of our next President!

Mixed feelings for me about her chances in '08. I think McCain has the best shot against Hillary. I'd have to vote for him despite his Trojan horse mentality.
Still, since Princeton webcasts their keynotes, I'll try to watch. Maybe I'll catch you in the crowd...
Honestly, I think she has the best chance against Hillary. McCain is going to be the worst RINO imaginable. I'll never forgive him for the awful, unconstitutional CFR. To get me really excited about Condi, though, I'd need to see her philosophy toward judicial nominees. That's the biggest issue to me, well, except for the GWOT (which she would be stellar on).
Dont' ge me wrong. McCain does nothing to excite me. I just think he has a better chance of swinging some voters over from the blue ass world.
I would be very happy with Condi president, or Santorum, or Dan Quayle. Whoever, as long as they have utmost character. As for GWOT, we've already lost it. Pardon my sad view of things, but our country will never see unity such as during WWII again, and it takes that kind of mindset to win, especially in prolonged guerilla warfare. As more and more folks shun religion and spirituality (conveniently in the name of science and existing evidence), and embrace old failed ideals from Marx, Trotsky, etc.., we'll advance on a slow path to collapse, thanks to the enemy within. There will be fewer and fewer spiritual leaders left, and they are the only ones who can convince radical Islamists, again from within, that they have misinterpreted the Kuran and that peace is a better course of action, despite basic differences in philosophy.
As American citizens, we on the right will do what we can and fight to the end to preserve our freedoms, with faith that we will be blessed in an uphill battle.
I think that's all we can hope for.
Yeah, sorry that turned really philosophical.
Dull?
Anything but dull. As long as Hillary is running, I'll give my left.., well, I'll do everything I can to make sure she doesn't win.
She's our Bush to the left.
We would be electing Palpatine...!!!!
Well, I've already posted my predictions earlier on this blog. Realistically (doesn't mean I support), I think 2008 will have that "centrist" theme. Let's face modern times: Bush won in 88 because Dukakis was WAY TOO FAR to the left. Clinton won in 92 because he ran as a centrist (although he truly is a liberal and the other reasons he won in 92 was because of Ross Perot and how the media treated Bush)...Bush won in 00 because he wasn't really a hardcore conservative (he was really a libertarian-leaning/moderate conservative).
I think the people overall in the country are looking at more centrist themes for 08. Which is why I can see people like John McCain and Rudy Giuliani winning. Jeb Bush would win for simply name value. Hillary Clinton will make it to the Democratic ticket, but it's like the Philadelphia Eagles - 4 years of being in the NFC Champ/Super Bowl game and just not winning it.
But EVEN NOW, I think there are many doubters in the Democratic camp for Hillary. Which is why I can see them nominating John Kerry (comfort), Al Gore (Nixon-effect), John Edwards (like Kerry - comfort/familiarity).
I'm not saying I don't support Condi Rice - it's just I don't see it yet.....the "feeling" she'll be there in 08. But time will tell. We may see people we'll completely be surprised by in 08.
If you catch webcast, I can see Tim being carried away physically - Sheehan style LOL
I'm with you, LtCarp, on predictions of '08 being a "centrist" race. I'm much too disillusioned as a conservative to expect anything better. I'm really excited about Condi, but I don't think she'll run. I'm not excited about McCain. I bet we go the way the Dems have gone lately in picking a winner - picking a Repub gov. from a northeast liberal state (Romney, Pataki, or Mayor Giuliani) just like the Dems latest winners have come from Southern states (Clinton, Carter, LBJ). Of those, all three would be good on the GWOT, but Giuliani and Pataki would be a little to squishy on the social conservative side for me. I don't know enough about Romney, but he did fight a high profile fight on stem cells in his state.
Personally, I don't see much prospects for success for a Santorum or Quayle (or any 'real' conservative) nomination. I underestimated the power that the media have in this country in the last election, and I think they'll pull out all the stops when it comes to this next one. If we nominate a 'real' conservative, then the Dems just need to nominate a 'centrist' liberal and we wouldn't even have the benefit of much of the new media - I can't see bloggers like Glenn Reynolds supporting 'gay-unfriendly' Santorum against Hillary running on a GWOT Hawk platform.
Oh, and no pics. They banned cameras from the event just yesterday. Dangit! Well, maybe you'll see me on the webcast. I'll see if I can sneak in an audio recording device.
I'm with you Tim. I too wish for conservatism, however we have to *gulp* follow with the current times of central themes.
About Romney, he too is another "New England conservative" if you know what I mean. He's liberal on social issues (pro-choice, supports gay partner benefits, against total gun ownership.) Everything else he's pretty much conservative (death penalty, decreases taxes, supports some prayer in schools and church welfare, etc.).
I said this a few times, but conservatives really can't win. The media obviously now will do anything to prevent conservatives from winning. Even as far as using some faxed rag from a Texas kinko's to say Bush is a fraud. So in other words, a moderate liberal/centrist has a better chance of winning than a conservative.
Bush won in 04 simply because I think FINALLY the "smarties" woke up and voted. Plus it helps to get a Christian and military revival voting for you. Remember for presidential elections: Bush had the most votes EVER.......but Kerry had the 2nd most.....
